There may be many reasons why a person would want to access the Internet using a disguised IP address. For instance, many countries ban access to social networking sites such as Facebook, making it impossible to stay in touch with friends and family. When this is the case, it is convenient that there are services available that will allow them to change IP online.
One such service is the web-based proxy. This service provides the subscriber a browser that disguises the IP address, making it seem as if they are connected to the Internet in a completely different country. This service doesn’t make subscribers download anything, so they are usable on any device such as a phone. They do tend to be slower, because of the many people using the browser at any given time.
Another service is the VPN. Subscribing to a virtual private network gives the subscriber a new IP address that is based in another country. They do require a download, so they are only good for one device. But they are much faster than a proxy service.
So, it is fairly easy to change IP online by obtaining a subscription to one of these services.
